Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County Joins  
Statewide Celebration of Literacy 

 

Pinellas County, FL – January 26-30, 2026 – Early literacy creates a love for reading and learning, which benefits children throughout their lives. The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County (ELCP) is proud to participate in Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! 2026, taking place January 26–30, 2026. This annual statewide initiative promotes the importance of reading and literacy for children and families across Florida. 

This year’s theme, “Read, White and Blue: Celebrating 250 Chapters of America,” highlights American history and honors the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. The campaign encourages students, educators, and families to explore books and stories that reflect the rich history of the United States, fostering a deeper understanding of the country’s heritage through reading. 

Throughout the week, ELCP will partner with local early learning providers, schools, and community organizations to host engaging Storytime events featuring local guest readers. 

“Literacy is the foundation for success in school and life,” said Lindsay Carson, Executive Director of the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County. “Celebrate Literacy Week gives us an opportunity to unite families, educators, and the community in promoting the joy of reading while honoring our nation’s history.”
