Reporting Fraud
The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County (ELCP) is dedicated to maintaining trust and transparency in our services. Fraudulent activities undermine these efforts and impact the resources available to our community. We encourage everyone to report any suspected fraud to help us prevent and address these issues.
How to Report Fraud
Fraud is an intentional deception, omission, or misrepresentation made by a person with knowledge that the deception, omission, or misrepresentation may result in unauthorized benefit to that person or another person, or any aiding and abetting of the commission of such an act.
If you suspect fraud, please contact us through our dedicated online Fraud Form. Please provide as much detail as possible, including:
- The nature of the suspected fraud
- Names of individuals or businesses involved
- Locations where the fraud occurred
- Any other relevant information
You can choose to remain anonymous, but if you prefer a follow-up, please leave your name and contact number.
Common Types of Fraud
Here are a few examples of types of fraud to consider reporting.
Child Care Providers
- Signing a child in when absent to claim payment
- Providing false information to obtain payments
- Advising parents not to report changes to eligibility
Parents/Clients
- Not reporting all household members or income sources
- Submitting false employment or education documents
- Providing false at-risk referrals
